I am interested in just about every aspect of art. My main loves are fashion, photography, collage, sketching, interior design, and writing. I attended the Atascadero Fine Arts Academy for grades 5-8 and took various art classes there. In high school I studied photography and also took an interior design class at Cuesta College (through the high school enrichment program). I have had experience using all different types of cameras, including an old Nikon SLR, digital, Polaroid, Lomo, and I have even made a pinhole camera out of an oatmeal container! My most recent work has been a mixture of collage and stitching on paper. My goal is to get my general education courses completed through Cuesta and then transfer to California College of the Arts in San Francisco. I look forward to taking classes in fashion, drawing, textiles, and photography and seeing which suits me best.

I have always been fascinated with art and the ability to use imagination to create what does not actually exist in our world. I also enjoy taking the best of what does exist and making it better. I have quickly realized that, although I enjoy drawing most of all, I really don't have the skill or the patience to be successful at drawing. At an early age I learned that I had a real knack for photography. I have always enjoyed taking pictures of all of the amazing places and creatures of this world, and have come to enjoy it more and more over the years. On my path to becoming an Eagle Scout, the photography merit badge was one of the most enjoyable and one that I excelled at. I then went on to become the troop historian, whose job is to keep a photographic record of the troop's outings and events. In high school, I took a photography class as an elective and found this to be far more fun and challenging than casual photography because it gave me specific subjects to photograph, such as patterns, action photos, still life, etc. I had such a fun time in that class that I decided to take the basic black and white photography class at Cuesta College. This was my first time actually working with black and white film, even though I had learned much about it while earning the photography merit badge. I finished in the top of the class, as I always did when photography was involved. I am pursuing a career in photography because it is a great way for me to express myself and bring happiness to others.

Art has always been a part of who I am. I love to create stories and share ideas both through writing and artistically. I have taken all the basic art classes offered at the high school level. I have also taken Graphic Production, Animation, and Video Production classes. I am pursuing a career in art because I love the creative process. From visualizing the concept to producing the finished work, I find it all very rewarding. I have chosen to work in the very exciting animation industry. I have been accepted at the San Francisco Academy of Art University, where I will earn a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree in Animation and Visual Effects.
